Ms. Jaclyn Nagle has been a lifelong disability advocate. Working for a Center for Independent Living (CIL) in Reading PA for many years; her passion was to address education for children with disabilities.

Even before that she started her advocacy with her parents as a child with a disability at a very young age. She was always taught to fight for herself, she did, and then as she matured fought the hard fight for others. Currently she has been at our CIL since June 2022, and has made outstanding strides like this organization has never seen before. She is by far our best Executive Director in the history of the Disability Empowerment Center (DEC). She is determined that staff train on advocacy immediately upon hire. advocacy, where in the past we were admonished for doing so, as past EDs never understood what we did or what a CIL was developed to do. In her short time with DEC she has spoken in public numerous times at universities, churches, private businesses and other entities. She is very organized and educates the staff about advocacy and other duties to assist consumers with disabilities. All done, without concern of her (dis)abilities, she pushes on with energy and optimism, and encouragement for all the staff and Board members.
